Montessori School of Corona at 260 West Ontario Avenue, Corona, California.

My son has been going to "Montessori" School of Corona for the last 3 years, and it has been a wonderful experience for him. His teachers really care. It is a safe environment and he has learned a lot. The classes are not too big, and there is a teacher and an assistant teacher in each class to give more individual attention.
That said, this is NOT a Montessori school. Despite the protestations in the posters and brochures for the school, students are not given time to explore on their own or to direct their learning according to their interests. Assignments are rigid, often in the realm of "busiwork" worksheets, and all students at each grade level are expected to do the same assignments in the same way and at the same time (like at the "traditional" or public schools). Even projects given are rigid and do not leave much room for individual expression or interpretation. While it is a good TRADITIONAL school it is more like a "prep" school or a public school (with caring teachers, a safer environment, better teacher-student ratios, and less "teaching to the test" than goes on in public schools) than a Montessori school.
